Civil Engineering Trenching Equipment
From fibre rollouts to renewable energy sites, TrenchWorks equips New Zealand contractors with trenching machines built to keep major infrastructure projects on schedule and under budget.

Typical Applications
Fast, clean trenching for critical infrastructure projects nationwide.
- Fibre optic installation
- Water pipelines
- Utilities
- Solar farms
- Wind farms
- Infrastructure
Things Worth Considering
- Excavator tonnage or tractor horsepower already committed to the wider job
- Ground hardness and stone content across the site
- Multiple service trenches on one corridor, each with its own depth requirement
- Programme pressure — trenching speed feeds directly into the wider civil schedule

Civil Engineering Applications
Dedicated guidance for the specific trenching jobs most common in this industry.
Fibre Trenching
Fibre rollouts need a narrow, consistent trench that protects the duct or conduit while disturbing as little ground as possible. Whether it's a rural fibre run across farmland or a subdivision and footpath rollout in town, the machine has to match the ground and the job, not the other way round.
Utility Trenching
Utility trenching usually means more than one service sharing the same corridor — power, water, gas or telecom conduit laid together rather than a single narrow cable duct. The trench is typically wider than a fibre-only cut, and the ground is often a mix of existing hard surfaces and services that need to be worked around.
Water Pipeline Trenching
Water pipeline trenching covers potable water reticulation on subdivision and civil sites — cutting a clean, consistent trench for a pressurised main, often on tighter, more constrained ground than a rural irrigation run and closer to existing underground services.
Civil Trenching
Civil trenching covers subdivision development, infrastructure corridors, and multi-service trenches carrying power, water, fibre and stormwater on the same site — often under programme pressure where trenching speed directly affects the project timeline.
